Mirlanda, a ten-year old Haitian girl, lost her mother and her leg in January’s earthquake. Her heartbreaking story is beautifully told in this 6:25-minute video.
Thanks to the Médecins Sans Frontières team, including the three who worked with Mirlanda and are featured in the video: Nicola Vigilanti, photographer; Dr Delia Dammacco, plastic surgeon; and Gilles Lavigne, physiotherapist.
Thanks MSF for making a difference, for reminding us that the great gift of life is — to paraphrase Thomas Huxley — less talk and more action, effective action. (Huxley actually said: “The great end of life is not knowledge but action.”)
Psst . . . If you can’t give your time, give your dollars. We can all make a difference. Donate to MSF now.
